I think you miss a point that working hard doesn't equate getting things done. I saw a lot of people working hard (in number of hours) and net gain from their effort is zero or less.You should be focused what kind of results you would expect to have from one day's work or pay me proportionally to my output which can be 10x more than that of hard working guy. I am fine with that. Putting long hours just to fit in culture is not smart thing in the long run. Note one more thing , 'old farts' have more to lose if they do shitty job than some no family/mortgage guy in early 20s.
