It is not about memory safety or anything like that. It is about simplicity.
If you say "you can't do x with y in C++" you will get an "yes you can, you just use asd::dsadasd::asdadqwreqsdwerig_hfdoigbhiohrf() with weaorgoiawr flag". From what I have seen from Rust, it is similar.
I don't want to fill my brain with vim bindings.. cough.. Rust ways of doing something. I just want to code my hobby game engine v7.
That said, I am happy to use software written in it. Even though the evangelists can be really annoying.
